Bohemia retains Michelin Star for 2006
Bohemia Bar & Restaurant Celebrates Only Michelin Star In The Channel Islands
Bohemia Bar & Restaurant is celebrating today’s news that it has retained a Michelin star, the only one to be awarded in the Channel Islands, with the launch of The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2006.
Bohemia Bar & Restaurant has enjoyed another extremely successful year since its first star was awarded in 2005. The restaurant’s reputation for food excellence in stylish, contemporary surroundings is now a well-established feature of Jersey dining.

Bohemia wins Menu of the Year award at the Cateys
The annual Caterer & Hotelkeeper awards, or Cateys as they are more affectionately known, are considered the Oscars of the hospitality industry. The Catey statuette was presented to Bohemia Chef Shaun Rankin by Fiona Bruce of the BBC at a glitzy ceremony, attended by 890 luminaries from the hospitality industry including many big names such as Gordon Ramsay, Raymond Blanc and Brian Turner.
The judges praised the menu's ability to whet appetites and tempt diners to make the journey across to Jersey and were also impressed by the value of the menu. They also praised Shaun's willingness to get the most out of his ingredients. “The techniques he uses show he's someone who cares”, said one judge.

The review was of the highest calibre including, "Starters took the standards to the level of the exceptional". Lawrence Huggler commented "Bohemia has not yet reached its second birthday and to have achieved these awards and now this review and ranking, is testament to all the team at Bohemia, not just their skills but also their passion."

Bohemia celebrates announcement of Michelin Star
Bohemia Bar and Restaurant is celebrating today's news that they have been awarded their first Michelin star with the launch of The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2005.
Bohemia has swiftly built a reputation for food excellence in stylish, contemporary surroundings since it opened on 24th April 2003.
Commenting on the news, Managing Director of Bohemia Lawrence Huggler said: “We're absolutely delighted. The team at Bohemia , headed by Chef Shaun Rankin and Restaurant Manager Dimitri Marqueteau, works exceptionally hard and this award is testament to their commitment and service excellence. To achieve a Michelin star within two years of opening is an immense achievement.”
The award is the first Michelin Star for Head Chef Shaun Rankin who has headed the kitchen team since the restaurant opened. Commenting on the news, he said: “This is a joyous occasion. We've been working so hard towards this for the last two years and it is fantastic to get recognition of this calibre for our efforts.”

Bohemia has been awarded 3 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence in the 2005 AA Restaurant Guide – Inspector, Peter Birnie describes restaurants that achieve 3 AA Rosettes:

Bohemia announced as restaurant of the Month by Visit Britain
